These terms govern your use of the Nutrication apps and website ("the Service"). By using the Service you agree to them.
1. What Nutrication is — and isn't
Not medical advice. Nutrication provides educational, general-interest information about food. Grades, breakdowns, insights, and suggestions are not medical or dietetic advice, and the personalization features do not create a clinician relationship. Always consult a qualified professional about your diet, conditions, and medications, and never disregard professional advice because of something the app showed you.
Allergens: always check the package. Our data comes from public databases and AI reading of labels and photos, either of which can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Never rely on Nutrication to determine whether a food is safe for an allergy or intolerance — read the physical label and consult the manufacturer.
2. Accuracy
Grades are computed from public data (notably Open Food Facts), label photos you provide, and AI estimation. We work hard on honesty — the app marks low-confidence data, excludes measures it can't compute, and cites its sources — but estimates are estimates: nutrition data may not match the package in your hand, portion estimates from photos are approximations, and AI-generated content (label reading, meal recognition, suggestions, swaps) can be wrong. Use your judgment.
3. Your account
Sign-in is optional and passwordless (one-time email codes). You're responsible for access to your email account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service (e.g. scraping, attempting to disrupt scoring, automated bulk requests).
4. Subscriptions (Nutrication Pro)
- The free tier includes daily scan limits; Nutrication Pro ($4.99/month) removes them.
- Auto-renewal: Pro renews monthly until canceled.
- On the web, billing is handled by Stripe; manage or cancel anytime from the You tab → Manage subscription (Stripe billing portal). Cancellation stops future charges; you keep Pro until the end of the paid period.
- On iOS/Android, billing is handled by Apple/Google; manage or cancel in your device's subscription settings. Their refund policies apply to purchases made there.
- Prices may change with notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no reverse-engineering or scraping at scale, no attempts to circumvent rate limits or access others' data, no using the Service to build a competing dataset.
6. Content & licenses
The Service, its scoring methodology presentation, and its design are owned by Nutrication. Product data from Open Food Facts is used under the Open Database License (ODbL) — our thanks to its contributors. Photos you submit remain yours; you grant us a limited license to process them to provide the Service (see the Privacy Policy — we don't keep them after scoring).
7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nutrication and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for decisions made in reliance on the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
8. Termination
You can stop using the Service or delete your account at any time (You tab → Delete my account & data). We may suspend or end the Service or your access for breach of these terms, with refunds handled per Section 4.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted in the app and the date above updated. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept them.
